MAMI'S 80th BIRTHDAY BASH!

She's the stronghold of our family. She's the reason we're all here, together. She's remained the center of our lives and we wanted to show her this the best we knew how.  Mami, my grandma, turned 80 years old in April. That is quite a milestone! To celebrate, we (her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren) threw her an awesome birthday bash!  Family and friends came from all over Texas, Oklahoma and Mexico to show her the love that she has always shown to others so freely. I hope, through seeing these few photos, that you will be able to feel the love and encouragement that we all feel as a family.

My aunts and cousins worked hard to get all the details just right!

My grandma has NINE children total!

These are most of the grandchildren.

Grandchildren and spouses.

Great-grandchildren

Isn't she too cute!?

The top photo is my cousin Danyale, Me and my cousin Crystal. We've always been inseparable.  We all went to school together, had our quinceanera together and graduated together!

The bottom is of each of our moms :) For the party, each family wore their own color, that's why we match! (It's not by accident!)

Of course Joshua and Jordan! They're my favorites! ;)

Mami became a little emotional while watching her slideshow.

Mami enjoying a dance with her youngest child, Tio Ricky. LOVE the flower in her hair! Stylin'!

It was an exhausting night for us all. This was taken while we were cleaning up. I'm thankful David and my mom helped me because I would've died half way through the night without them! It was totally worth every drop of sweat though, fo' real!

THE LITTLE PRINCESS

Brownie was a gift to my sisters and I after our dog, Scooter, was hit by a car.  She's always been so obedient and loving.  She quickly became attached to my baby sister and became hers.  As we became adults and moved into our own homes, my sister was unable to take Brownie due to apartment regulations.  So Princess Brownie came with David and I.  And we love her dearly. Sure she's a little chunky, but by golly is she adorable.  She loves her "room" (kennel) like any teenager would.  She also stands her ground against the boys in the house.  Today, we were informed that she has diabetes :(  After weeks of losing weight and having a small appetite, we are thankful that we now know the cause.  When she comes home from the doctor on Friday, she'll go back to being our Princess and hopefully she'll be in tip top shape.  We'll have to make a few changes for her health, but nothing is too much for our little 8 year old girl :)
